Today I took the Miata to work, so I figured I would take a nice spirited run of Decker Rd in order to test the car out. I usually go that way when I am driving home in the Miata, but I figured now would be a good time to pay attention to make sure nothing is off or out of place. Drive went well and aside from my unfixed speed sensor and cam position sensor wiring throwing a CEL, nothing was wrong. Tires are still doing fine, suspension is working properly, and no issues with the new exhaust. I did find out that my camera is mounted pretty poorly and way too close to the mirror, but that will be an easy fix. I also found out my harness is not adjusted properly and I need to remove the seat again to fix it. I will be buying a nice ratcheting, flex-head wrench from Lowes tomorrow to make quick work of that. I’d like to invest money in a whole set, but I need to research that some m0re. Anyways, here is the video. Sorry I forgot to turn off the radio, I would have rather recorded just exhaust sounds.

Those seat bolts are such a pain to get to.
I finally got my sub strap but am unsure of how to install it. What did you do there? Backing plates? Weld some bar to the seat rails..?

I just got these two sets for track days, even though you know I won’t do repairs at the track. But hey, they’re nice tools. Sonic Tools are awesome. They’re European, and I think most of the tools are German. Their pliers are NWS pliers, which are made in Germany, and are very similar to Knipex.
Other than Sonic I would recommend OEM Tools .

If you are talking 6 point, then it’s real easy. Just drill holes straight down into the floor (remove the carpet first and punch that through after) and then backing plates with the eye bolts through that. Nut on the other side and then you are done. It’s much easier on a lift but doable otherwise.
Getting the seat out is easy but lining up the inside rear bolt to get it back in is damn near impossible. Tempted to permanently remove lots of carpet to make it a little easier. But with the proper wrench it's at least 100 times easier to tighten it down. I gotta stop losing tools...

Flat wrenches are nice and all, but it's the super versatile flex head ones that I really need. Those come in handy in all of the strange places. That's always been the Ace up my sleeve (other than a 3 foot pole and liquid wrench) for getting through tough as hell jobs.

Oh trust me, I know. Look into Gearwrench on Amazon. They’re owned by Matco and a few of my Matco things are just rebranded Gearwrench stuff.

Haha that’s like wrench porn. And yeah the gear wrench set was the one I’m currently eyeing

I need more wrenches.
Gearwrench is a good brand and is worth the cost. Check Tooltopia and Amazon for the best price.

One of my favorites. It's somewhat slow but that just means I don't have to speed much to enjoy it. Downhill is a little wild but fun not having such a power disadvantage.
